You All Deserve Better
I hope you all know that you are important to me. I read every comment and email even if I don’t get to reply to all of them. The good comments and the bad, that’s all part of the process.
I wrote something for today, but it went way off in the weeds. I think I was trying too hard. A good subject for an essay is easy to come by. The execution of writing that essay is another thing entirely. Especially when I try to force it to meet a Saturday or a Wednesday deadline—an arbitrary deadline that I created myself.
I post to two lists when I write to you guys. Half—about 4000 go to Substack and the other half, about 4500 go to my Author Email blog. Last week I managed to send typos to both—in the subject no less! That’s the fricken easy part! That made me angry and it was embarrassing. You all deserve better.
Wednesday sucked. It was a very difficult day all the way through. In my rush to make a deadline that exists only in my head I hacked a paragraph or two from a book and mangled the subject line on both platforms. The handful of you that got both saw both. I heard about it and I do apologize.
From now on I’m going to try to adhere to my schedule but if the day is a disaster I’m either going to post later or the next day.
I don’t ever want any of you to think I don’t value you, and the time you take to read me. I think you deserve the best I can provide as a writer and Wednesday was not that!
Thank you, I mean that.
Bill
